Main Character Analysis of "Super"-Hero!

Welcome back bloggers! Today's post is a fun one, as we'll be getting into an analysis of our main character for "Super"-Hero: Power-Man! For a character who is essentially the definitive childhood superhero, what exactly is he all about?

*a new inspiration for Power-Man's final costume

For starters, Power-Man on the outside is nothing special, at least for a superhero. He's got a colorful costume, a cape, a mask, the whole shebang. He bears no special props, preferring to "solve" crimes the old fashioned way: With his bare hands! Like any superhero, Power-Man believes in working for the greater good of the people, and helping anyone and everyone he comes across so long as they aren't causing trouble for anyone else. If he does find a bad actor, though, he won't hesitate to teach them a lesson deserved for a criminal, or at least attempt to do so. One thing that actually came to mind as I was brainstorming for the idea of Power-Man was the fact that despite being completely inept to "fight" crime in any sort of way, he still tries regardless even if he gets obliterated in the process (as we will see during the film!). Although unintentional, this actually plays really well into what I had in mind for Power-Man: A generic, comic-book superhero who is a classical symbol of courage and hope, at least in theory.

We know what Power-Man is like physically, but what about mentally? Based off the nature of his character, and the genre of the opening, Power-Man's personality is one of light heart and sarcasm. He has a profound inability to take anything seriously, much less a robbery by 3 seemingly incompetent criminals who look like they broke into the first house they saw. In the opening, he will have a very laid-back demeanor to him, acting like if this robbery was just another Tuesday on the job. This contrast between a humorous but confident personality and a completely unserious appearance plays perfectly into the comedic absurdity of the opening that we're aiming for, and the robbers' initial reactions to Power-Man's arrival will be a mix of fear and confusion. They'll be scared because Power-Man acts like a real superhero, but confused because of how out-of-place he looks for a real supe. Either way, Power-Man is sure to make a big impact in the flow of the film when he appears in personality and appearance, and we hope to capture that as best as possible when we begin filming.
